The Castle Players, a community theatre company based in Barnard Castle, have been producing major outdoor theatre productions for over 21 years. The inspiration for starting The Castle Players came during a game of Charades, which took place during a blackout in The Old Well Inn.

This year The Castle Players present Shakespeare’s epic retelling of Henry’s victorious reign and famous victory at Agincourt, directed by Laurence Sach, who recently directed Pride and Prejudice for The Castle Players winter touring production.

The Castle Players are delighted to be able to continue to celebrate their summer production with a special Real Ale produced by local award winning micro-brewery Mithril Ales at Aldbrough St John. Pete Fenwick from Mithril Ales said “I first brewed a special beer for The Castle Players in 2012 which was called ‘The Castle Players Ale, beer As You Like It.’ I like to support the arts locally and their excellent productions bring Shakespeare alive in the grounds of The Bowes Museum.”
